FLY TO BLUE
Singer-songwriter’s David Gunn and Valarie Mulberry have been doing something right. Maybe it’s the yin and yang of feminine and masculine, youth and maturity and two emotive, complimentary voices. Since moving from Maui, Hawaii to California the duo known as FLY TO BLUE have been building strong and loyal following, based solely on their live show and fascinating catalogue of songs.
David, a long time surfer and natural storyteller, sings about such things as riding waves at Honolua Bay on Maui. As well as, an interesting array of stories about hard earned wisdom.
Valarie a bohemian songbird, and former expatriate, writes songs of things such as; nature, taming lions, getting caught in flash flood waterfalls and love triangles.
Their live show is vibrant with humor, depth, and audience connection, as well as enchanting vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar.
Both singer-songwriters have been recognized for their song craft. David won Best Song of the Year at the San Francisco chapter of the West Coast Songwriters Association. Valarie won Best Song of the Month at one of the WCSA monthly showcases, as well as a guitar in a national lyric contest. FLY TO BLUE reside in Santa Barbara, California and perform regularly up and down the California coast, playing venues from San Diego to LA to San Francisco.
